Walking with... Inaccuracies
[edit]Thanks for your message.
The problem with this section is, as I explained on the talk page, it relies entirely on original synthesis. I am not disputing that the series may have errors, but I do know that it is not Wikipedia's job to point them out in the first instance. If you have some reliable sources that say; "Walking With" got it wrong because ... [discussion of Paleontology]" then that's great, put it in.
What's not ok is for someone to read something in a book or journal, decide what they think it means, compare it with what was shown on the "Walking With" TV series, decide what that means, and therefore reach the conclusion that "Walking With" made an error. That is original synthesis and not permitted because the person reaching the conclusion is just some Wikipedia editor, not an expert and not an authority. They may be completely wrong.
This is what I think where almost all of the Paleontological inaccuracies fails. It doesn't have cites from reliable sources saying "Walking With" was inaccurate, it has assembled facts that the Wikipedia editor who put it in believes show that "Walking With" was inaccurate. This isn't good enough.
Can I remove this section again? If you can find sources that explain what the inaccuracies were, and specifically talk about "Walking With" then please do add it. --Escape Orbit (Talk) 16:54, 2 July 2011 (UTC)
